This release represents the most comprehensive DrQ upgrade since 2023. We are delighted to announce the following new features.
Catalogue Rules
DrQ's validation rules incorporate various parameters that set thresholds, manage rule execution and control notifications. Our new "Catalogue Rules" feature offers a simple, rule-based way for our users to adjust these parameters in real-time.
Users can specify custom Catalogue Rules based on service provider, well details, rig, section type, curve sets, and more. The Catalogue Rules UI provides a single, convenient place to create, visualise and manage all rule customizations.
Issue Suppression
A single user may need to manage data quality across multiple drilling/well site operations. To facilitate this, DrQ provides a summary dashboard of indicators in green or red to flag real-time data quality issues. The goal is to stay "all green, all the time."
If a user knows that a particular issue is in the process of being resolved, he can now choose to turn its summary indicator to green before the issue is actually resolved. This makes the dashboard's red indicators more indicative of the range of issues that he still needs to focus on to ensure they are actioned for resolution.
Tagged Curve Source & Visualisation
DrQ lets the user tag any time-based WITSML curve. Built-in tags include HDep, BDep, FlowRate, and ReturnDepth, but custom tags can also be created for any curve. All tagged data is saved and can be viewed on the DrQ Monitor page, offering valuable context for understanding validation results.
As announced at the Operators Data Quality Group meeting in Houston in June, ConocoPhillips will work with its wellsite (data) services suppliers to drive improvements in the quality and reliability of the frac data gathered across its assets.
The industry has long recognised the need for improved data and interoperability standards for stakeholders engaged in wellsite completions.
To bring rigour to data quality assurance practices in fracking, enhancements to current software tools and platforms will need to be made.
One of the challenges to be met in developing a comprehensive QA solution for completions is the complexity and diversity of working practices, operational setups, equipment types and sensors.
Experience gained by ConocoPhillips from the implementation of DrQ across its drilling operations will provide insights to help guide the development of these new capabilities.
